Welcome to the Junior Section

At Louth Golf Club, our junior golfers enjoy a fun, friendly and safe environment where they can learn the skills of golf, develop confidence, and progress at their own pace.

We welcome all young people who are curious about trying golf. Juniors can join our New-to-Golf Development Programme without any requirement to become a club member — it’s the perfect way to experience the game for the first time with no pressure or commitment.

As juniors grow in confidence and begin to enjoy regular practice and play, many choose to take the next step by joining our Junior Membership section, where they become part of our thriving junior community.

Louth Golf Club has been officially awarded Junior Hub status by England Golf and the Golf Foundation — recognising us as a centre of excellence for junior golf development, with high standards of coaching, safeguarding and inclusivity.

Junior Coaching

All junior coaching is delivered by our PGA Professional, supported by trained club volunteers who have completed the England Golf Activator Course. For details of our current coaching team, visit our Facebook page or contact us directly.

Our Junior Pathway

We follow a structured development pathway:

  • Fundamentals & Fun – grip, stance, swing, putting and chipping through games-based learning
  • Skills Development – practice-range sessions, distance control, accuracy and course etiquette
  • Play, Progress & Compete – Junior Golf Passport, ability-based competitions, team formats and junior team matches

Weekly Group Coaching Sessions

Sessions run weekly from March to December (weather permitting). Please contact us for current session times and fees.

Junior Initiatives

Boom It Golf

Boom It Golf is our fun, no-pressure taster session open to youngsters aged roughly 5 to 16. There is no requirement to be a member and no expectation of competition — just a chance to swing a club, enjoy the fresh air and discover golf.

Sessions run regularly and act as a stepping stone into our Junior Programme and full club membership. Contact us to find out when the next session is taking place

Junior Room

Our dedicated Junior Room gives young golfers a space to socialise, relax and have fun between sessions and rounds. It is equipped with a pool table, Nintendo Wii and TV.

Junior Fundraiser

Each year, the Junior Section holds a Fundraiser Day — open to both adults and juniors — to raise money that supports coaching, competitions, equipment and junior initiatives throughout the year. Keep an eye on our social media for details of the next event.
